From July 14 to 21, 2025, a training session on learning methodology was held at the Elo-American University campus in Borama for three teachers from the rural Ibrahim-Fanaan School in the village of Buss. The one-week training was funded by Hiil-San International Rural Development, a non-profit organization based in Ottawa, Canada. Hiil-San supports the village school, which serves around one hundred boys and girls. The intensive program was led by two university professors, Yusuf Muse Duale and Mohamed Farah Kibar. In addition to pedagogy, the training included a computer literacy component and an introduction to audiovisual tools, enabling the teachers to use the digital equipment provided to the school by Hiil-San. Among the materials was a USB drive containing 5,100 educational videos covering the entire curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 8. These resources will serve as valuable support tools for the teachers, while offering students important complementary content alongside their classroom instruction. Furthermore, with access to this digital and audiovisual material, rural children will have the opportunity to become familiar with modern learning tools. The week-long training equipped the teachers with new skills and knowledge, which they will begin applying when classes resume in a month.
