Education is the best way out of poverty in part because it is strongly linked to economic growth. Education is often referred to as the great equalizer. Education is one of the most effective ways to combat poverty. It has been proven that education has the power to transform people’s lives and create opportunities. Early childhood education is crucial to breaking the cycle of poverty. Research has shown that children who receive quality early education are more likely to succeed in school. According to a 2019 Oxfam report “Good-quality education can be liberating for individuals, and it can act as a leveler and equalizer within society.” Unfortunately, access to early childhood education is limited in many parts of the world, particularly in rural and remote areas.Hiil-San’s work is based on the belief that all children have the right to a quality education. This year, our work in favor of education led us to add two classrooms to the “Ibrahim Fanaan” school in the rural village of Bus, Somaliland thanks to the generosity of the Amoud Foundation. Furthermore, education is critical in addressing many health issues that can affect individuals and communities. Education is a vital part of sustainable development, and the article concludes by emphasizing the importance of achieving quality education for all. ality education requires trained and decently paid teachers. One of our objectives to improve education in the village of Bus is to raise the level of knowledge and life of teachers. Hiil-San’s success in this essential area requires everyone to participate so that we can overcome poverty. As Nelson Mandela said, “education is the best weapon to overcome poverty”. Let’s give this weapon to today’s children. Amina A. Jirde, Hiilsan Board member Columbus, Ohio
